The Junction City/Geary County Economic Development Commission revealed it’s plan on how they will market the area towards businesses relocating to Junction City and Geary County because of the planned National Bio and Agro Defense Facility that will be built in Manhattan.
Susan Jagerson, EDC Specialist, explained what was outlined in the plan,”The
main thing of it is figuring out who the target market is, who are we trying to reach, what type of companies can we attract, what can we support with our workforce and our infrastructure.”
Jagerson went on to explain that when they figure out who they can attract officials will determine how to reach that market.
Some things still needed to be added to the plan according to Ben Kitchens, Chairman of the EDC Advisory Committee,”We’ve got some other strategies we need to put with it. We need to work on our site selection stuff and workforce issues.”
Kitchens did appoint a task force that will be meeting next week, and will work on moving forward with the plan.
