Medical Staff Bylaws at GCH Being Reviewed

For the first time in nine to ten years the medical staff bylaws at Geary Community Hospital are being reviewed.

Joe Stratton, GCH CEO, updated the GCH Board of Trustees Tuesday night gch threethat the hospital’s medical staff is reviewing the bylaws. He explained what the bylaws are,”It’s a legal document that helps to guide the medical staff at the hospital together to make sure we’re delivering the best patient care possible in a safe and meaningful manner.”

The bylaws have been amended from time to time over the years according to Stratton but a full review hasn’t been conducted in nine to ten years.

“They periodically have to be reviewed and updated so that they’re compliant and they’re clear and thorough,” Stratton said. “Of course healthcare is changing rapidly so we thought it was a good idea to go back and re-exam and review the medical staff bylaws.”

Stratton went on to say that the review will take between three to four months and will then be presented to the Board of Trustees for further input and final approval.
