Junction City police report a vehicle was stopped by patrol in the 500 block of W. 11th St. about 2:15 a.m. Saturday after being observed speeding with its’ flashers on. Authorities learned a victim of a shooting, which occurred at The Factory Club, 805 GrantAvenue, was being transported by friends to Geary Community Hospital.  An ambulance was notified to respond and the victim was transported by EMS to that hospital for care and treatment.

Police have not yet released the name of the shooting victim.

Investigations detectives and a K-9 unit were notified and responded to assist processing the scene, and attempting to track a possible suspect. Evidence was collected at the scene, however police said the suspect has not been located and remains at large.

Police labeled the case an Aggravated Battery on their daily Tour Log report.
