The annual YMCA auction in Junction City Thursday night produced more than $29,000.
That information was provided by YMCA Director Ted Hayden, who reported about 150 people attended the auction, which was held at Brown Real Estate & Auction Service LLC at 2323 North Jackson.
Hayden stated the auction went well, especially considering the winter weather that was being experienced by Junction City. “Made a little over $29,000, had about 150 people, which I was pretty concerned about three o’clock since it was icing pretty bad, but I was very pleased about the amount of people that came out and braved the ice.”
The funds will be used to support various needs ranging from YMCA building needs to scholarships and support of the JCHS boys and girls swimming teams.
Items sold during the auction range from hunting trips to weekends at Acorn’s Resort.
