A suspect that got away after resisting arrest following a traffic stop Tuesday evening turned himself in.

According to Tony Wolf, Geary County Sheriff, Al Gerone Johnson Jr. turned himself in at the Geary County Sheriffs Department Wednesday night just before seven o’clock,”he was placed under arrest and booked in the jail.”
During the traffic stop Tuesday evening in the 1500 block of North Jackson Street a deputy spotted what appeared to be a handgun and marijuana in the vehicle. The deputy then asked Johnson to exit the vehicle and that’s when Johnson allegedly began acting hostile and fled the scene. A foot pursuit pursued and additional units including K-9 and police were requested. After a search the suspect was still at large.
Johnson was booked into the Geary County Detention Center on numerous charges ranging from suspicion of battery against a law enforcement officer, felony possession of drug paraphernalia and improper driving on a laned roadway.
