Franklin and Ware Elementary Schools in USD 475 were among 102 Kansas schools honored Wednesday night with Challenge Awards from the Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force.

They were recognized for their performance on state assessments in reading and / or mathematics that exceeds normal expectations, based on socio-economic status and sample size of those taking the test.
The Awards honor Kansas schools that are making a significant difference in student achievement among disadvantaged student populations.
The Awards ceremony was held at Junction City Middle School.
Schools from 102 districts were represented during the ceremony.
