Two Geary USD 475 elementary schools will receive 2013 Challenge Awards.

The awards will be presented by the Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force Wednesday night at Junction City Middle School.

Ware Elementary School is being recognized for third math and Franklin Elementary School for third grade reading.

The Challenge Awards are designed to recognize Kansas schools that are making a significant difference in student achievement among disadvantaged student populations.

During the ceremony Wednesday evening 102 schools in 66 Kansas public school districts will receive Challenge Awards.
