October weather was average in Geary County.

That was how Geary County Extension agent Chuck Otte summed up the month in his weather report.

The average daily high during October was 67.5 degrees, just two-tenths of a degree below average. The average overnight low was 43.7, three-tenths of a degree below normal.

The long term average precipation for the month is 2.62 inches with a trace of that coming as snow. Milford Lake received 1.83 inches of precipitation during October, but Junction City caught the heavier portion of a few more showers and received 3.02 inches for the month.
