The Junction City Lady Jays fell to Washburn Rural 25-11, 25-8 in the first round of a Class 6A substate volleyball tournament in Manhattan.

The loss ended the season for Junction City.

Lady Jay coach Megan Parks, said Washburn Rural is a good team. “We played out of our minds, probably the best volleyball we’ve played all year for the first 8 to 10 points. Washburn Rural stepped up and pushed back, and we didn’t…we didn’t push. I mean they just, they didn’t stop.”

Junction City finished the season with a final match record of 13-25.
