The new CVS Pharmacy in Junction City will not open in time for the Christmas season as originally anticipated.
The economic development specialist for the Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce Susan Jagerson has talked with a representative of the developer for the project, Velmeir Developers. “And they said that the store is getting ready, that it’s about done, but that it will not open until after the first of January.”
On the reason for the later opening Jagerson conveyed the information that CVS normally doesn’t like to open stores during the holiday season. “They want to make sure that if they’re going to be in operation during the holiday that they’re up and running. Since they can’t get it open to be all stocked. They have a pretty good backlog for all the stores they’re opening, that they would rather wait until the first of January and do it right.”
The new pharmacy is being built at the southeast corner of the Washington and Chestnut intersection.
