The Kevin and Jeannette Ascher family are the Geary County Four-H Family of the year. Other family members include Lindsey Ascher and Allison Day.

The award was presented during the Geary County Four-H Achievement celebration Sunday night.
Multiple family members have been in Four-H. One family member, Lindsey Ascher, is currently a Four-H participant with the Brookside Four-H Club. “Well I’ve never gotten this big of an award before so it really means a lot, because it’s really a good achievement if you win.” When asked what she thought when she heard her family’s name called as the award recipients Lindsey chuckled, “I was in shock, I was like paralyzed.”
Kevin said, “To us it’s quite an accomplishment. Four-H is a very good thing to be in. It’s a lot of hard work, and to come here to an Achievement Night and to receive the awards and recognition it really means a lot.”
Ashley Evans was named the Outstanding Four-H Girl and Joshua Haines the Outstanding Four-H boy.
Ashley is a member of the Humboldt Four-H Club. Joshua Haynes is a member of the the Lyons Creek Four-H Club. Evans and Haynes both received luggage as part of their award.
