Junction City police believe they have apprehended the suspect in a series of burglaries on the city’s south side.
Police Detective Sergeant Trish Giordano said a 17-year old juvenile visiting from Fort Lauderdale, Florida has been taken into custody. “We developed him as a suspect, and we set up surveillance, watched him. He walked behind a house that we didn’t know what he was doing. When we approached he had already gained entry into the house and had some stolen property in his pocket.”
Giordano said the 17-year old suspect was taken into custody after a short foot chase and some stolen property was recovered at the house where he had been staying. That location was 917 Dreiling G1.
Police said the juvenile was arrested on suspicion of 11 counts of burglary, four counts damage to property, and felony obstruction.
