As Junction City has worked through difficult financial times there have been a series of challenges.

One of those occurred recently, said Chief Financial Officer Cheryl Beatty. She noted there was one week customers could not pay their water bill. “Because we didn’t have software or hardware computers to do it. ”

Beatty told a Partner Appreciation Day audience in Junction City on Friday that the city is backlogged at the present time “because of three computer crashes that we’ve had in the last three months. Thought we’d lost all of our software data in the month of July. We had to bring in a level three computer specialist to recover it.”

The software data was recovered.

Beatty said that has put the city behind on many things. She added a normal city would never have faced that situation, and would have replaced their computer systems and software.
