Regionalism Was one Topic Discussed During Partner Appreciation Day

The Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce Economic Development held it’s Partner Appreciation Day Friday at the Geary County Convention Center.

Bill Clark, The new Director of the Flint Hills Regional Council, was one of the guest speakers and he Bill Clarkdiscussed the importance of regionalism. He mentioned the need for everybody to work together, “In today’s era of dwindling resources from the federal level down to the state level down to the local level we have to be very astute at being able to partner together our resources to solve problems and take care of our constituents across the area.”

Clark took over as the Director of FHRC following his retirement from the Army. He was the Garrison Commander at Fort Riley before his retirement and mentioned that his roll as Garrison Commander helped him step into his roll as the FHRC Director,”I think coming from Fort Riley as the Garrison Commander, I had my hand in a lot of the challenges were dealing with, I worked with the local community a lot and so it was a great bridge to come over here and be apart of something that I was apart of with at the fort.”
