More than $25,000 in hay was destroyed by fire early Wednesday morning near the Saline/McPherson County line.

Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski said deputies were sent to the 1800 block of W. Coronado Heights Road about 1:30a.m. . McPherson County rural firefighters were called to put out the fire.

168 bales of hay valued at $200 a ton was stacked up.

Cause of the fire is unknown. Total loss put at $25,200.
