The Geary USD 475 Board of Education has given the necessary approval for the Junction City High School Chamber Choir to travel to New York City and perform at Carnegie Hall next April.

The board approved the out-of-state trip during their meeting on Monday.

Superintendent of Schools Ron Walker called the trip phenomenal. “I know this is little bit early. But the competition is actually later on in the spring, and they just need time to raise money. So we approved it early. ”

Possibly 20 to 25 JCHS students would be able to make the trip. They have been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall April 19-22 with Kansas State University students.
