Obituaries – September 23, 2013

Paul Dean Martinitz, most recently a resident of Abilene, KS, passed away September 22 at Enterprise Estates Nursing Center at age 78.  He worked for many years in the local area and had formerly resided in Junction City, rural Chapman and Woodbine and was a former Woodbine Mayor.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 26 at the Lyona United Methodist Church with Pastors Carol Ramey and Marilyn Cox officiating.  Burial will be at the Mount Zion Cemetery near the church.

The family will receive friends at the Londeen Funeral Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.  The Funeral Chapel will be open for visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Wednesday.  Memorials may be given to the Lyona United Methodist Church sent in care of the Londeen Funeral Chapel, Box 429 Chapman, KS 67431.

He is survived by his wife Margaret, Abilene; a son Richard Martinitz, Abilene; a daughter Rhonda Chartier and her husband Dennis, rural Abilene; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Arlene Ade, Salina and Violet Lehner, Strasburg, CO.
