One person was taken to Irwin Army Community Hospital for treatment of a possible injury following a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 77 nine miles north of Junction City on Thursday.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported Birgit Bauer, 49, Junction City was taken to that hospital for treatment of a possible injury. The driver of the other vehicle R. L. Kilgore Jr., 66, of Abbyville, Kansas was not injured.

KHP said Kilgore was northbound in a Kenworth semi and Birgit was northbound in a Nissan Xterra, when the semi rear ended the other vehicle at a traffic signal in a construction zone.
