Sixteen schools in Geary USD 475 held Freedom Walks Wednesday.

Westwood Elementary in Junction City held their freedom walk Wednesday afternoon. The 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students gathered in the gym and sang patriotic songs before setting out on their walk.

The Freedom Walk is an event to reflect on the lives lost on September 11,2001. Schools throughout the district have been participating in the walks since 2002.

Ware Elementary will be holding their Freedom Walk on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
