Tim Brown, Junction City Police Chief, released details. “I will confirm that Lisa Junghans was booked into the Geary County jail last night ( Friday night ) at about 5:25 on a charge of Felony Theft. Her bond was set at $5,000, and she bonded out just prior to seven o’clock last night ( Friday night ).”

When JCPost.com  asked, Brown did not say why Junghans was charged in the warrant. “Again the allegation was Felony Theft. Other than that I’ll refer you to the County Attorney’s Office for any other information reference to this.” No additional information has been released on this case.

Junghans has not yet had a first appearance in Geary County District Court on the Felony Theft charge.

Lisa Junghans resigned from the Animal Shelter Director job on July 9.  No explanation was given as to why she stepped down.
