JCHS Golfer Sixth at State

Coach Tim Hickert said Roether shot a round of 83, six strokes out of first place in the competition at the Terradyne Country Club golf course in Andover. Hickert said putting was the strength of Roether’s game on Monday. “She made a whole bunch of four and five-footers. We saw some four-putts, five putts, even a six-putt. It was windy, tough greens, and she just continually made putts over and over again.”

Mia Toukach of Gardner Edgerton finished first in the individual competition with a round of 77.    Macie Myers of Manhattan finished fifth with an 81.

In the team competition Shawnee Mission East captured the title with a total low score of 341. They were followed by Washburn Rural with a score of 363, Blue Valley West 373, and Manhattan was fourth at 374.  Roether was the only golfer in the tournament for Junction City.
