Manhattan man avoids injury after car hits rock embankment

Screen Shot 2013-12-13 at 8.39.21 PMBRECKENRIDGE, MO – A Manhattan man avoided injury in an accident just after 8:30p.m. on Thursday in Caldwell County.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reported a 2007 Pontiac GS driven by Andrew L. Fields, 22, Manhattan, was eastbound on U.S. 36 one mile west of Breckenridge.

The vehicle ran off the north side of the road. The driver overcorrected and the vehicle ran off the south side of the road and collided with a rock embankment.

A passenger in the vehicle Elizabeth J. Lefaoseu, 20, Tacoma, WA., was transported to Cameron Regional Medical Center. Fields was not injured.

Both were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.
