The Junction City Lady Jays tennis team participated in the Topeka West InvitationalTuesday night.
The Lady Jays were led by their doubles team of Ally McKenzie and Danielle Shane who went 2-2 on the day, finishing in 7th place. One of the losses included a tiebreaker against the 2nd seeded doubles team from Salina Central.
Abby Khoury and Jordan Dombrowski finished the day 1-2 earning a victory over Topeka West in their final match. The Lady Jays entered an extra doubles team to the bracket of Anne Kim and Brianna Talley, who were put into the top doubles flight and finished 0-3.
On the singles side, Nea Misa went 0-3 in the top singles flight and Alyssa Breshears finished 9thplace in the second flight going 2-1 on the day. Abigail Weisler was added as an extra participant to the tournament for the Lady Jays and earned a victory in the second round to go 1-2 on the day.
The Lady Jays next host Manhattan in a varsity dual at Junction City this Thursday, before traveling to Topeka next Monday for the Centennial League tournament.
