Kansas State is preparing for their Saturday match up with 20th ranked Oklahoma State Saturday in Stillwater, OK.
The Wildcats are coming off a bye week were they were able to make some headway in a number of areas according to Bill Snyder, Kansas State Head Coach.
“We wanted to be able to get a little bit of rest and I think that we
accomplished that, wanted to get a little healthier and I think that maybe some of the bumps and bruises have healed a little bit better,” said Snyder. “We put a great deal of attention on some of the issues that we’ve had, some things that we need to improve on, I think not collectively but a substantial amount of improvement I think has been made in a number of those areas, but there’s still a way to go.”
The bye week came at an opportune time as Kansas State opens Big 12 Play against a Oklahoma State team that is 4-0 on the season and is averaging about 110 more yards offense per game than the Wildcats, with most of those coming through the passing game, suggesting that the Wildcat defense will be tested once again Saturday.
Oklahoma State’s defense not to be taken lightly as well. Coach Snyder went over a few things that he saw out of the Cowboys defense in their game this past weekend over Texas.
“I think the ability of Oklahoma State to contain the Texas quarterback, for the most part after the first quarter, I thought was substantial in the ball game. It gives you a good idea that schematically they are very sound and able to adjust to what kind of offense that they are playing.”
Kansas State and Oklahoma State face off in Stillwater, Oklahoma, Saturday in a 3 pm kick off.
