The Junction City Brigade will receive a first-round bye in the Cowdin Cup Playoffs, the postseason tournament for the Mid Plains League.
The playoffs announced on the league web site find the number one seed Midwest A’s and number two seed Junction City with a bye in the first round of the playoffs
The first round matchups opening Monday find the Liberty Monarchs in Topeka to play the Golden Giants, and Baldwin City at Rossville. Those are best two out of three series, with game two Tuesday night, and game three, if necessary, on Wednesday evening. The games rotate between the team’s home fields.
The semifinal round of the playoffs will also be a two out of three series, Thursday through Saturday.
According to Brigade General Manager Junction City will play Thursday night at Rathert Field at 7 p.m. against the winner of the Rossville – Baldwin City series. Game two will be Friday night in either Rossville or Baldwin City, and game three, if necessary would be Saturday night at Rathert Field.
The championship will be determined by a single game Sunday ( July 26 ) at the site of the highest seeded team remaining in the tournament.
