Rain Delays Post 45 Baseball Tournament

Friday mornings rain delayed the Post 45 American Legion Baseball Tournament Friday at Rathert Stadium.

According Derek Scott, Head Coach of the Junction City Blues Friday’s games wereRathert Field pushed back until 4 p.m. and the last two games scheduled for Friday will be played Saturday evening.

Friday’s schedule finds Manhattan taking on the Topeka Senators at 4 p.m. followed by Marion vs Riley County at 5:45 p.m. and Emporia vs Topeka Senators at 7:30 p.m., the remaining two games from Fridays schedule will move to the back half of Saturday’s schedule.

“Fortunately we kind of worked this stuff out before hand and came up with a couple of different scenarios that we could run with,” said Scott.

Junction City will now play two games Saturday against Paola at 4:00 p.m. before taking a game off and then playing again at 7:30 p.m. against Marion.

Friday’s delays are not expected to push back any of the final games on Sunday.
