12 Under Brigade Win McPherson Summer Slam

By Carl Laughlin

The 12U Junction City Brigade travelled to McPherson this weekend and won the McPherson Summer Slam.  The boys went 5-0 on the weekend, winning the semi-final game 7-6.  They then won the final game 12-11 in extra innings.  These victories bring the Brigade a summer record to 30-5-1.  The 12U Brigade will be travelling to Kansas City this weekend for the 12UAA state tournament in which 46 teams will participate.

The boys will end their season at the World Series in Branson Missouri, July 7th-July 12th.  The boys will be out at all of the home Brigade games selling Sonic tickets to help pay for the world series trip.  They will also be serving tacos at Coach’s on Monday, June 29th.  They would definitely love support of the community and will work very hard in the next few weeks to represent Junction City in both the state and world series.
