Blue Jay Baseball Going to State

The Junction City Blue Jay baseball team is headed to the Class 6A State Tournament.

Junction City defeated Topeka High 4-3 and Washburn Rural by the same score, 4-3 to win their 6A Regional Tournament at Hummer Sports Park in Topeka.

Tate Zimmerman got the pitching win in game one and Charlie Peyla was the winning pitcher in game two for Junction City ( 12-10 ).

The Class 6A State Tournament is at Hoglund Stadium at the University of Kansas in Lawrence on May 28-29.

This marks the second consecutive year the Blue Jay baseball team has qualified for the state tournament. One year ago Junction City fell to Manhattan in a first round game.
