Jaylene Brime won the boys triple jump with a mark of 42’7 1/2 and the Lady Jay 4 x 800 relay team finished first in 9:48.2 at the Class 6A Regional Track Meet in Hutchinson on Thursday.
Those were the top finishes for Junction City in the regional, which saw a total of 19 JCHS track and
field athletes qualify for next week’s state meet in Wichita.
Junction City coach Randall Zimmerman said the Blue Jays and Lady Jays did “an outstanding job, competed really really well.”
Zimmerman noted many of the JCHS entries are quality as they head to the state meet May 29-30 at Cessna Stadium in Wichita.

The Blue Jays finished fourth in the boys team competition, and sixth in the girls team scoring. Maize finished first in both boys and girls competition.
