When the presenter prepared to award Benedikt Reynolds his Army ROTC Scholarship during the Junction City High School Awards Night assembly she asked the question….is this a typo?

No it wasn’t.

Reynolds was presented with an Army ROTC Scholarship valued at $200,000 which set off thunderous applause from his fellow students in attendance at the Warren Settles Auditorium. He was then also presented with a Corvias Foundation, Our Future Scholarship valued at $50,000.

Overall Junction City High School seniors were presented with scholarships with a total combined value of $1,867,000. According to Margie Pinaire, Geary Community Schools Foundation, that breaks down to $299,250 in local scholarship awards, $268,000 for athletic scholarships, $257,750 military, and $1,042,000 in college scholarship awards.
