The powerful Hayden Wildcat baseball team swept the Junction City Blue Jay baseball team 7-0 and 12-2 Tuesday night at Rathert Field.
The Wildcats improved to 19-1 with the wins, while the Blue Jays ended the regular season 10-10.
Junction City coach Drew Biery said it’s frustrating He noted there was an opportunity to play a good team like Hayden, but thought the Blue Jays were hesitant at the beginning. “You’ve also got to give credit to their pitching staff. They held us to two hits in the first game. They kept us off balance all evening really. It was just tough for us to get into a groove offensively.”
The Blue Jays will now await the announcement on the pairings for their Class 6A Regional baseball tournament.
