Geary County Sheriff’s Deputies worked an injury accident on I-70 near the 311 mile marker just after 3:30 a.m. Saturday. 

The Sheriff’s Department reported that Shannon Peterson, Kansas City, KS was driving his 2011 Scion when it ran into the rear end of an unoccupied, disabled vehicle on the shoulder of the interstate. Minor injuries were reported as a result of the accident.

The Sheriff’s Department also confirmed that Peterson was arrested at the Geary County Detention Centr on suspicion of Driving Under the Influence, Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident, Duty of Driver to Give Certain Information After Accident, Refusal to Submit to a Preliminary Breath Test, and Refusal to Submit to Intoxilyzer.
