The Junction City Blue Jays ( 9-7 ) went to Manhattan Friday and swept two baseball games from the Manhattan Indians 3-1 and 11-10 in nine innings.

Blue Jay coach Drew Biery was proud of his players. ” I have high expectations for them and they came out and they performed tonight. I’ll tell you what there was a sound I’ve never heard before. Our guys were into the game and the fans were into it. It was intense and it was a lot of fun to watch.”
Biery noted his team competed at the plate in game one, grinding out bat after bat. Amir McFarthing pitched for Junction City in that contest.
In game two the Blue Jays drew a couple of walks with Biery saying they then decided to get aggressive with hit and run instead of bunting. “It was perfectly executed by Amir. We got guys on second and third.” Biery added then they threw a ball into the dirt, the Blue Jays were aggressive, and took home.
Junction City will host Topeka West May 7 at Rathert Field.
