The Junction City Lady Jay softball team edged Emporia ( 0-2 ) in game one of a doubleheader in Emporia 2-1, with Katie Hollibaugh getting the pitching victory. Kalie Solis knocked in both Lady Jay runs with a double.
In game two the Junction City bats exploded enroute to a 23-1 victory over the Lady Spartans in four innings.
Coach Jeff Childs said in the second game the wind died down. In the first contest many of the hits were held up by the wind or floated. “When we hit it hard we hit it right at them. In the second game we started hitting gaps, and got some extra base hits.”
