Just five days after winning the Big 12 Tournament Iowa State was derailed in the first round of the NCAA Tournament by University of Alabama at Birmingham 60-59.

Iowa State was a #3 seed in the South region of the bracket. UAB will now go on to face the winner of #6 SMU vs #11 UCLA.
