The Flint Hills Regional Council will be holding it’s meeting Friday at the C.L. Hoover Opera House in Junction City.
On the agenda is an update on Milford Lake and the blue green algae situation
from R.J. Harms, Corp of Engineers Project Manager.
“KDHE has made some pretty good changes we think in the program up here, so the main thing will be to highlight that and let folks know how that may change our response and the intensity of our response and the timing of everything,” said Harms.
Some of the changes include how the Corp of Engineers and KDHE release information to the public, with hopes of minimizing the impact it will have on the lake.
Dr. Jackie McClaskey, Secretary of the Kansas Department of Agriculture will also be in attendance at Friday’s meeting. Dr. McClaskey will present the vision for the future of Kansas water.
The meeting will start at 9 a.m. at the C.L. Hoover Opera House.
