County Crews Working the Roads

geary county

Geary County public works crews have been working the county roads during the snowfall.

Curtis Van Nahmen, Road and Bridge Supervisor, confirmed it has been an easy snow to drive in for the crews. “We’ve been plowing and treating the roads, and then we’ll continue to plow them. But the good thing for us is there’s no wind.”

Van Nahmen estimated about noon there had been an inch of snowfall, and about one-and-a-half inches in Junction City.

The County will keep the existing crew plowing until 7 p.m. and then determine if more snow develops later.  While a break in the snow could possibly occur in the late afternoon, Van Nahmen confirmed there will be personnel ready to work on the roads tonight, if necessary.
