The Junction City Blue Jays picked up a win on Senior Night at the Shenk Gym over the Topeka West Chargers 63-54.

The Blue Jays had three players score in double figures, including Ricardo Erans with 18 points, Tanner Lueker 15, and Josh Bryan 13.

Lueker and Bryan are seniors along with Kyle Hand and Kareem Avant for the Blue Jays this season.

The win impacted Junction City when it comes to substate tournament seeding next week. Coach Pat Battle said the Blue Jays will be the number six seed in an eight-team bracket. “It’s two – seven, three – six basically, so Manhattan will play Washburn Rural and we’ll play Derby. And then the winners play in the substate final. ”

If the Blue Jays had lost to Topeka West they would be a number seven seed playing at second-seeded Manhattan Wednesday night.
