Manhattan Regional Airport to Hold Open House March 6th

After numerous delays Phase one of the $15.8 million terminal expansion project at Manhattan Regional Airport is expected to be completed by Thursday, February 26th.

To celebrate the completion of Phase One of the project that included the addition of MHK-JobSign-no-text_810-303a passenger boarding bridge the Airport will be hosting an open house on March 6th.

Peter Van Kuren, Airport Director is encouraging members of the public to attend the open house and see the new terminal.

“That way they will be able to get behind the scenes, kind of see where the airline personnel will be working, where the TSA folk’s will be inspecting bags and personnel. Just a good opportunity for folk’s to see the new facility and I think they will be very happy with what they see,” said Van Kuren.

The Open House will be held March 6th from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m..

Phase one is only a portion of the complete project that will more than triple the size of the terminal from 12,500 sq. ft. to 42,000 sq. ft.. Phase two of the project is expected to begin in April and wrap up in early spring of 2016.
