The grand opening for the new Chapman Food Mart is Saturday at 9 a.m.
The full service grocery store is located across the parking lot from the Kansas Auto Racing Museum at the Kansas Auto Racing Complex in Chapman.
The store will be operated by Kenny and Ann Bush of Solomon. They also own and operate Bush’s Market in Solomon.
The Chapman Food Mart features and 8,000 square foot facility with its own meat market, dry goods, and deli specializing in fine foods.
Store owner Doug Thompson said, “We are absolutely delighted to lease the new grocery store to Kenny and Ann Bush. They presently operate a grocery store in a small town and understand how importanta high quality full service grocery store is to a community. Bush’s Market in Solomon has an excellent reputation for a well run grocery store cutting their own meats and producing excellent food from a high quality deli.”
Kenny Bush stated, “We love the Chapman area and are delighted to be the first tenants of one of the most beautiful grocery stores anywhere. ” Bush noted, “We will bring fresh meats to the community and be able to cut meats for custom order.”
The grocery store was built using primarily companies and businesses from the Chapman area. The Chapman Food Mart will be open seven days a week.
