The Geary Community Healthcare Foundation had a record fundraising year in 2014.
Jolana Montgomery-Matney, Foundation Executive Director
explained that they raised just shy of $133,000.
“That’s just the fundraising events, and that’s up over $25,000 from the previous year,” said Montgomery-Matney.
The money raised went back to different areas of the hospital through gifts and donations.
Montgomery-Matney added that the Foundation also took in over $3 million worth of grants which also was returned to the hospital.
“Indirectly those dollars will all come back to the hospital. Basically all of the healthcare in our community is in this hospital.”
Fundraisers put on by the foundation included the annual Golf Tournament at Rolling Meadows, The Holiday Glitz, and Boots, Chaps and Cowboy Hats.
