McCallister Suggests It’s Time to Consider an Increase in Commissioner Pay

junction city symbolJunction City Commissioner Mick McCalister would like for the governing body into a discussion at some point on the pay scale for the commission.

“And the reason why I say that, at $200 a month expenses are not being covered. Expenses such as gas, not only computer supplies that are not the city. Expenses continue to rise, and just going to different towns and going to different meetings the expenses are continually rising. It’s a very small stipend for anywhere between 30 and 40 hours a week that this body each puts in for the citizens.”

McCallister expressed his thoughts during the city commission meeting  Tuesday night.
