Saint Xavier High School officials are in the midst of an effort to raise money to keep the doors of
that school open in future years.
They need $50,000 by March, and a three-year fundraising plan for future years.
The first ever alumni basketball games at the school Saturday night generated revenue to help with that effort. Assistant Principal Shawn Augustine said event brought in at this point $9,500, and that total may be closer to $10,000 plus after credit card amounts are figured in as well.
A big crowd of approximately 700 people attended the event at the Bradley Gym at Saint Xavier High School.
