Jovan Baldwin returned an early fumble by Wichita Southeast for a touchdown, and then
rushed 60 yards and 15 yards for two more scores as 42-7 Blue Jay victory over the Golden Buffaloes.
The win came at Carpenter Stadium in Wichita, and left Junction City 1-0 in district play, 5-2 on the season.
Southeast, 0-1 in district, and 0-7 overall, jumped on top early on a yard kickoff return on the opening play of the game by Alenden Wilson, but the Buffaloes never scored again.
It was a game where the Blue Jays worked to overcome some injuries including two that resulted in the starting center Grant Whaley and quarterback Tanner Lueker unable to play in the contest.
Junction City will host Wichita East in district play next Friday. The Blue Aces are 1-0 in district action after defeating Wichita North.
