The Junction City Blue Jay boys soccer team fell to Shawnee Heights 2-0 on Tuesday night at
Al Simpler Stadium.
Drew Proctor, JCHS coach, said the first five minutes of every half has been the achilles heel for the Blue Jays. “We had one little letdown where we just watched a guy win a ball over the top of us and we didn’t even challenge. It was real easy for him to just get up, win the ball, and he knocked it into the back post.”
Proctor said with about 10 minutes left in the first half the Blue Jays also let down a little bit with defensive transition.
Proctor noted Shawnee Heights is ranked 10th in Class 5A.
The Blue Jays are 5-8 on the season.
