The Association of the United States Army convention is in Washington D.C. this week.

JCPost.com talked with Geary County Commissioner Larry Hicks Sunday following his arrival in Washington D. C.
He said the focus of local officials Monday will be on the AUSA convention itself. “Around 12 noon we will have a luncheon at Clyde’s. And at that luncheon we’ll be meeting with ( Brigadier General ) Wesley to talk about all of the respective developments that are taking place out at Fort Riley.”
Brigadier General Eric Wesley will be in command of the Big Red One rear detachment at Fort Riley since the Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion for the division is deploying to Iraq for one year.
Tuesday local government officials will meet with Congressional representatives on Capitol Hill.
The AUSA convention ends on Wednesday.
