As a part of the Bramlage Family Walk-a-Mile event held Friday for students in grades K-8 in Geary USD 475, Junction City Middle School’s more than 940 students walked around the track then met in the middle of the field to spell
out JCMS.
Brandy Lundgren, JCMS Assistant Principal explained that they have participated in walk-a-mile for the past several years and this year they wanted to do something fun and different.
“We had a very collaborative inquiry task for them to do, and they were challenged with creating a JCMS, a whole school initiative,” says Lundgren.

For their participation in the event each student who walked was entered into a drawing for two new bicycles. This years winners were 8th grader Hanna Keown and 7th grader Payton Lawhorn.
The event is put on by the Geary Community Healthcare Foundation in partnership with the Bramlage Family Foundation and Geary USD 475.
