Public Input Needed at Community Forums
Findings from the newly released Geary County Community Health Assessment will be presented at two upcoming public forums on October 7th and 9th. Junction City / Geary County residents are encouraged to attend the forums to provide input on the results, identify root causes, prioritize the challenges and to suggest the next steps in the process.
Forum dates are:
- Tuesday, Oct. 7—C.L. Hoover Opera House at 7 p.m.
- Thursday, Oct. 9—Washington Elementary School at 5:30 p.m.
Food will be provided at the Washington Elementary event.
The assessment, which began in late 2012, took a look at the local health environment to gain a deeper understanding of Geary County health issues and assets. The findings will give local residents the ability to respond to those health issues in a way that will help support improved health in the Geary County.
The Geary County Community Health Assessment and final report is a joint project of the Geary County Health Department, Geary Community Hospital and Geary County Schools U.S.D. 475. The project has been facilitated by the University of Kansas Work Group for Community Health and Development.
