The lease agreement for the Cloud County Community College Geary County campus was a topic at the weekly Geary County Commission meeting.

Commissioner Florence Whitebread said the college came in with a proposed extension to their lease agreement, and the County has asked about the possibility of the college assuming ownership of the three older buildings on the campus.

“It’s something that we have given to our county counselor to look at, and also asked them to check in to see if the college, Cloud County, is interested in ownership of the buildings.”

Whitebread noted Geary County would have to retain ownership of the new science building on the campus because payments are still being made on that facility.

The campus is located adjacent to Caroline Avenue on the west side of Junction City.
