Jesus Christ Superstar To Open at Opera House

operaThe Junction City Little Theater produced show “Jesus Christ Superstar” opens Friday night at the C. L. Hoover Opera House.

Steven Hornbaker, Show Director, explained that the show depicts the final week of the life of Jesus as seen through the eyes of Judas. Hornbaker commented that the music during the show is second to none, thanks to the orchestra that has been put together for this show.

“We have eight strings in our orchestra directed by David Bernard Stevens who is an instructor of violin and music at the high school. And he’s put together an orchestra that’s fabulous. We have a professional guitar player playing the guitar leads. We have members of the 1st Infantry Division Band, who are professional musicians playing many of the instruments in this show. And this band it will just knock you out, it’s so good.”

The show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday. The show will also be performed at the same times next Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Sept. 19-21 at the C. L. Hoover Opera House.
